Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on 22 August 1995. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress, she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album reached the third position on the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released including Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also rose at the number 6 spot on the charts in the United States. Lipa's album, which has now been certified platinum in a variety of countries around the world has won two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British female single artist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. Dua Lipa was the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on 22 August 1995. Her parents are of Bosnian heritage via her maternal grandmother. Her ancestors can also be identified back to Peja, the Kosovo city of Peja. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Her siblings are Rina as well as Gjin. Lipa began to learn how to play guitar and sing from her father Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads the Kosovan-rock band Oda. In her home, Lipa's father played music of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was barely five when she began singing. In the year she turned nine years old, she began to sing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has performed a cover of Ain't Got You as well as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa was signed to Warner Bros. Records a contract in 2014. Her debut song New Love was released on August 15, 2015.
